The Invisibility

Its been more than weeks since I wrote something on sci-fi stuff here on the blog. Well let me present something related to invisibility. What is invisibility in real? What would you consider to be invisible? The answer is simple that something that is not possible to see with our eyes. I hope most of you have seen a Hollywood movie “The hollow man”, this movie is quite a nice depiction of invisibility science. If you really think that this hollow man freak is possible as if now than you are surely mistaken but we cannot deny the fact that this isn't possible in future.

So, the question is that is it possible to make someone or something invisible? The answer is yes, it is possible. To know how it is possible, we need to have a little idea of Physics and all that "reflection/refraction blah blahs". According to it, when a light beam strikes an object it gets reflected to our eyes and then only we are able to see the object but sometimes if light beam passes through the object without getting reflected back to our eyes, the object becomes transparent but not completely invisible as it happens with glass since a little part of light beam is reflected back to our eyes. So, if we consider this and try to think that how to deflect the light beam striking an object and not letting it reach the eye, then we can make the object invisible. This is a hard part to achieve since at some angle it is possible that the light beam is reflected to our eyes after striking the object.

I have heard some news regarding this invisibility experiments by scientists though they have not tried this light beam deflection phenomenon as per my information but they have tried some camouflage thing and camera use invisibility. Camouflage thing works in the same way as what the reptile chameleon does to hide. Actually this thing is the use of surrounding color and scene to hide oneself. This is quite lame for scientists to use since it is not actual invisibility. Its like they want to say “it meant the same thing”. The camera use invisibility is like both the sides of an object is having cameras and the video is streamed on the opposite side of camera on a screen. So when you look into the one side of object you see the other side picture making it feel like you are seeing on the other side. This is quite close but need more work to perfect it. There are various lacking in these two process.

Let us get back to what I had in mind, if you consider the light beam deflection theory and let us assume that we achieve this than also I would say that when you touch the invisible object, you should be able to go through it completely, think it like a ghost from which you can pass through. Well if you are thinking that the first part is itself hard and now I am adding new stuff into that and making it harder than you are wrong, what would be invisibility if you cannot make an object untouchable as well. But how to make it untouchable, quite tough though so what I had in mind is to use nano technology in this case. What we can do is, create an object which is a combination of nano robots or nanobots. All these nanobots should have light beam deflection feature and also they should be breakable when ever we try to move towards them they can break and move away and again fuse to form the object. At least in this way we are not able to touch them.

What the Frak?

Now a days I am watching a very popular TV show series “Battlestar Gallactica”. Well I hope that some of you might have watched or even heard of this show. For those who are aware of it, let me specify that I am talking about the re-imagined series which started in 2003. The story is really nice and animation sequence is good as per the year of its creation. But today we are not going to talk about what is good or great in it but instead lets talk about what I find unusual in the show.

So for past few weeks I have noted that the characters in this show use the word “frak”. I tried to search it over the internet that what it meant but there is no such meaning for this word which would make it meaningful in those sentences in which it is used. Even when I am typing this word, the blogger's spell checker shows its wrong. Later on after seeing more and more episodes I really got this word's usage and the correct spelling. So previously I thought that they are saying "Frack". This word is used as a replacement for a popular obscene word that starts with “F” and end with “K”. If you are guessing it as facebook, then you are completely wrong, but general public daily uses it. If you didn't get my point then I can not help you more than that since this is a public viewing site and you are a dumb. Even though use of this word really makes it funny in the show when characters say “Motherfrakker”, or “What the Frak”.

Also the show has this story line which involves “God”. Well up till now I did not understand why the characters are after gods and that too Greek gods specially. Its very confusing and irritating to watch it when for everything they relate it to God. Even in real life we don't say “God” so many times than what they have used in reel life. Also seeing this show after watching movies like Terminator and star trek really makes me think that whether these two movies were made up from this show or was this show a combination of these two movies. But never the less, I am still loving the story line of this show.

Mummification

Egypt, a place where all mystery lies in the pyramid and sands. In these pyramids lies a bunch of freaky old kings and queen who are officially known as "Mummies". Like Egyptian children, I am also confused that how Egyptian daddies turn into mummies after death but that we should not get involve in this as this is their family matter. But more than this mummy daddy situation the more attractive thing is that how are these mummies created. I usually think that my mummy should be created after my death and should be called as “ The MY”. The name is good as it will not change gender like Egyptian mummies.

The thing is that is it possible to create a home made mummy of one self. Yes I think its possible but if we follow classical Egyptian style of mummification then its totally painful as you need to take out your brain, and other organs except your heart, to preserve your body for a long time. But is there a easy way to do this at home? Yes there is a way. I would say not to try it right now, you can note down the steps and write it in your will so that you can be mummified later if your will is followed and no one thinks you a crack of mind.

Well the first step is to wash your the body with anti-bacterial liquid and with water. You can remove your organs and donate them (don't forget to mention this in your will, its a social service). Then again stitch back all the wounds. Again wash your body with anti-bacterial liquid and with water. Dehydrate your body in the sun to remove moisture and then cover your body with oil better to use pickle oil as it is anti bacterial and will preserve your body for long time. Now wrap the body completely using silk cloth or linen for rich people or toilet papers in case you don't have enough money. The important part part here is that you wrap each part individually that is to say wrap fingers individually and then palm, once each of this individual wrapping is done again wrap the whole body with single cloth. Once done put your body in a coffin and enjoy as you been mummified.

Brainiac: The Artificial Intelligent Robotic Brain

Our brain is a very powerful organ in our body. Its quite equivalent to a hard drive on PC though it is a volatile and non volatile storage at the same time. How can I say so that its volatile and non-volatile both? Well its a good question so let me tell you what it actually means. There are incidents or things that we often forget until we have this so called “Photographic memory”. Thus forming a volatile memory. Also, it happens that somethings we never forget until we have “loss of memory”. Thus forming a non-volatile memory at the same time. Let me give you an example as well, “Tell me your name..... you remember it at any time you are asked for it” but if I ask you what is the meaning of “Chronaphilus”, I am sure you would need a dictionary to tell me its meaning. Before you search for the word in dictionary, let me tell you there is no meaning for it as I made it up.

Since humans have already designed robots good enough to move, then there lies a question that can we create a artificial intelligent human robot who has feeling like us, thinks and understands like us. I am sure we can do it. So to make them feel like us, the robot needs to understand pain, happiness, anger, other emotions as well but the part where they can think and make decision comes is quite tough, we can write codes in them to let them know what to do in what circumstance but that is going to take forever as there are lot of decision to make instead we can allow them to learn it by themselves. To make a computer think and decide by learning, what we need to do is to teach it. Teaching in the sense start from A for Apple and continue until they know it all. Well its just to make it familiar to words and things. 

Now, still the question stands that how would they know that decision they will make is right or wrong. The answer is quite simple, that how we do it our self.  Let me tell you this with an example, suppose we have an apple with us and you don't know what to do with it but you know its an apple, the choices you have it is to eat it or leave it but whether we need to eat it or leave it depends upon our previous experiences with an apple. May be you knew that you need to eat an apple but when you ate it for first time, you find it rotten and tasteless and you decided not to eat it next time. But may be next time you find a fresh and nicest apple and when you try it that time, you decide to eat it every time until its rotten. So now you know that what to do with an apple when its rotten and when its fresh. Similarly we all make our daily decision for each and every thing in life and that is comparing our experiences of past and present to make a current or future decision.

Not only self doing acts but also the things that we see or feel daily, makes our decision. For an example that, think that you don't know what will happen if you cut a tree, you never cut it yourself because you don't know its consequence but one day you see a person cutting a tree and now you know that the tree will fall on the ground. So we know that similarly a robot with a permanent storage system can understand and make decision by itself by its past experience. The only thing we need to do is to teach it from basics till end. There is a caution notice here that artificial intelligent robots are still a bad option if they turn out to be cylons or terminators perhaps and then decide to kick your ass and kill you.

LHC vs My Mind

Here is somthing interesting but scientific in nature moreover its my thinking again. Most of you might have heard of a Scientific experiment going on in Geneva,Switzerland where a bunch of freaky scientists have gathered to work on a Machine named as LHC (large hydron collider). Well before I write somthing let me explain you what I heard about this machine when this machine when the experiments were about to start. Scientists have designed it to collide two electron particles with speed of light to create a big bang kind of scenario and gather information about God Particles and other blah blahs. Well I also heard that they plan to find out cure for various diseases like cancer. I don't know whats going on with that but though I wish them luck.

But what made me think hard was that how can they plan to find cures when they are not available in our world. So here is what I thought that may be when two electrons will collide to form a big bang and later on creating a universe since that is how scientists say universe got created. So being created in a lab at a very micro level they might create a different time space for this universe. Let me give you a better example to show what I mean. Lets say for us we have a universe which is created by big bang and now we are here in 2013. For normal humans the smallest thing is an atom. Now once if you consider that a similar small universe is created where humans again come into existence they will also have a smallest known thing as atom. Now if you take it ata mathematical level where if you take a ratio of size of our atom to their atom and our universe to their then similarly you need to take a ratio of our time with respect to their time. So what I meant is that in our 24 hrs time these small universe being may encounter 1000 years time. So, Then it is quite possible for us to be in year 2013 when these small universe beings are in some 31^st century and therefore they might have a cure for such diseases.

I also feel that if this a true thing then we all might be a part of such an experiment of universe created by some human beings who tested big bang in lab like we are doing in Geneva. Well this is all my thought may be information given above are solely wrong but thats what I created and may be I did not explain you all well enough. I hope my readers will give some reply on this.
